Meet Manu
I am a Sunnyvale resident since 2010, a conservative Christian and a proud Mom of three wonderful Sunnyvale students;
Daya (Freshman), Laya (6th Grade) and Leo (1st Grade).

My husband, Danny Thankachan, and I have been married for the last 17 years. My family motivates and inspires me every day. As a devoted Christian and certified Sunday school teacher, I firmly believe in giving back to the community and spreading love and kindness.
​
Professionally, I work as a highly experienced physical therapist, with over a decade of caring for patients. I am currently employed full-time at Sunnyvale Baylor, where I have been since 2013. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been providing care to those affected by the virus, utilizing my expertise and compassion to help my patients recover and get back to their regular routines.
My passion for serving others has led me to serve on our Church management committee in the past. There I gained valuable experience in leadership and problem-solving on behalf of a large community of believers. Now, I am eager to take on a bigger role in serving our community as a Town Council member.

We lead an active lifestyle and strive to maintain our physical and mental well-being as a family. We have taken part in various physical challenges, including the Spartan race, and have contributed to the community through events such as the Dallas Heartwalk. Additionally, I am an avid hiker, adventurer and have tackled the challenging Appalachian Trail.
Beyond my physical pursuits, I am also dedicated to serving others in both my professional and personal life. I have had the privilege of participating in missionary work in Sikkim, India, through a church in San Diego, California. This experience allowed me to make a positive impact and support those in need.

Background & Experiences
Fighting COVID-19
I served on the front lines of Sunnyvale's fight against Covid 19. As an essential healthcare worker, serving in the ICU and treating those that were affected by this deadly disease, I experienced firsthand the hardship and tragedy that many members of our community faced. I am proud to have served with the dedicated staff, nurses, and physicians of the Sunnyvale Baylor Scott & White hospital to help overcome this disease.

As a parent of two amazing daughters, Daya and Laya, I'm committed to making our town a better place for families like ours. I want to ensure that our community is safe, inclusive, and provides opportunities for our children to thrive. Together, let's work towards a brighter future for our families and our town. Watching them grow and flourish, I am reminded every day that there is no limit to what women can achieve.

My husband and son are two of my biggest supporters in my campaign for Town Council. They have been by my side every step of the way, providing encouragement and motivation to help me pursue this important opportunity to serve our community.
